Well I Thought I'd Finished
Having tried to do a journey to see my unwell friend in North Wales, with the head gasket to go once I'd got up there, I decided to do it myself.
The car is a 1.8T and so once all reassembled, oil and coolant replenished, then to test for leaks. The coolant appears to remain level, but there is now steam appearing from beneath the slam panel, which means the front is going to have to come off, when the weather calms down. Terrific. I stumble around when working on the cars, and there are those amongst us who are wizards with them, and have knowledge and experience, but for me, I do think at times, why? I could give it to someone else to fix and pay them, or I could just walk away from the marque, though I love them. I keep telling myself, that it still is cheaper than a car with a warranty. |

Wizards around or not , at least you tackled it yourself , yes you encountered a problem but that's all part of the learning curve.
As someone else said on another post , you learn new things all the time , especially on these cars. Give yourself a pat on the back for attempting it , many a car has been scrapped for less Stan
