Default Thank You.

If there were a "Thank You" thread, it wouldn't stop after one posting. The very reason the loss of someone like Derek, AKA Windrush, evokes the comments and attendance that occurred at his funeral today, epitomizes the Club.

Thank you Derek, for clearly, without your input and enthusiasm and tact, the Club would not run and exist as it does. Thank you Lillian, Derek's wife, who is part of the Club and known and loved by so many.

Thank you to Peter Harris (harrisop48) for helping me out by transporting me today, when yes, I could have got there by bus or train, or even taxi, but took me door to door.

Thank you to Club members who have helped me out with advice and physical assistance to keep my rover 75's on the road.

Thank you to Club members who again, today, have offered their services.

Thank you to friendly Club members who have offered their hospitality, should I pass their abode.

Well Done to all those who have contributed, and who feel they can trust the Club, to share their most personal problems. Remember, therapy can cost money and time, but any time spent on this Club is pretty good in helping.....
All join hands in a circle and step forward "I own a Rover 75!"

It was a lovely service. Quite a few laughs to go with the sadness.

I wasn’t aware that Dereks forum name was because he was on HMS Windrush when it was sunk

And he used that as the reason why Lillian could never convince Derek to go on a cruise!!

Sorry I had to shoot off straight after the service and not stay to chat to everyone but I had to be in Basingstoke for 12:30.

Very pleased I went. It was packed. Standing room only at the back. Which is in itself a measure of the man.

I think this Club contributes to the enthusiasm of owning a r75 and mgzt as much as the cars themselves.

It was indeed a lovely service and a fitting tribute to a much loved man.

I must admit when the ‘Last Post’ played it was a very emotional moment indeed.

Sorry I missed you today Clive, hope to catch up another time Sir.

Just got back home now, what a fantastic send off to the Gentleman of the club, and the headmaster of the LCOZ, this forum will be a poorer place now without Derek, I’m just so glad we got to meet on a few occasions, and shared many a chat across the social forum.

And yes, I shed a few tears when the last post played, and a smile when the ‘stock car’ theme started.

I bet Derek was up there smiling when my in tank pump died on the Peterborough by pass too... I just looked up and smiled to myself

Blooming rovers, if it wasn’t for this club I’d have changed marque years ago.

God bless ya Derek.
