Rear tyre wear and a clonk when applying brakes in reverse
Hi all,
My rear N/S tyre keeps wearing down faster than the other and the car pulls to the left more than it should (imo). I noticed when reversing and then applying the brake I hear a slight clunk which I thoguht was a brake pad moving but recently it's become more pronounced. I had 4 wheel tracking done 2 months ago to try and sort this but all wheels are perfectly aligned from a BMW specalist garage with a printout. Could this be down to a bush on the rear? I've only ever looked at the front so wondered what I'm looing for if I get the back end up in the air? I have also noticed on acceleration and then removing my foot from the accelerator pedal I have a single kangaroo efect through the steering/in the car, like the enginge is moving forward/back, but I replaced the lower engine mount last year, anything else to look at? I'm trying my best to keep my beauty on the road but at 163k miles shes starting to make a large hole in my pocket Thanks Darren Last edited by drunken_prozac; 10th July 2018 at 11:11.. |

If the bush or ball joint as some play only when car is moving it could pivot the arm or what not and make the wheel move. Stationary it may not be picked up.
Get the garage to sort out which ball joint/bush is knackered.

I replaced both with Powerflex ones over 3 years ago & had no issues whatsoever. Regards Paul

Probably as above. Power flex are supposed to be good.
