You're quite right Paul to say that systematically replacing components in the hope of finding them faulty can be very wasteful of time and money and demoralising too. Observation is an undervalued tool in fault finding after giving credit to TOAF for its assistance.

Well done for sticking with it Paul, and to your son who showed admirable dedication as well. It's worth remembering that, in the end, it was something very simple that cost you nothing.
