If having removed a wiper blade, leave the arm cranked up so that, if the wipers are accidently turned on, the end of the arm does not scratch the screen.

BUT - and this is the important bit, do NOT then open the bonnet, it will catch the arm and flick it down onto the screen cracking it, as I found to my cost (£175).

Probably safest of all to wrap the end of the arm in a cloth and place it back on the screen.

Living in Shap Cumbria and having found the doors on the car frozen solid many times.... Park ones NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- against the the door handle and you will get an operational door in a few moments (no need to bare ones) It's always a painful process but it's over and in!

With Shap winters, you are just as likely to find your NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- frozen to the door handle until springtime!

If you are opening the door with that, then you have serious issues

B@Um is the word, it may appear a little weird but far less weird than some alude to. It works faster with thin trousers rather than thick jeans!

Signed weird from Shap!

Default Neat trick

This is a neat trick which i suppose would work on dents like the one below, deeper creased ones not.

Default White door clip

I think most of us have had a door that will not open due to the white clip being out of line on the threaded bar.

It is always closed around the thread.
1

We want to open it so we can open the door then adjust the clip to work all the time.
2

With the lock inside there is not much room to flip this clip open, today i tried a trick with a 5p coin & a 1p coin.

Imagine the clip is locked round the bar inside the door as here below.
3

Armed with the coins 5p or 1p which ever you have.
4

Use either coin and insert it into the clip from the rear.
5

Now push the coin forward as far as you can, it will pop open the clip tried it a few times and worked every time.
6

Here is a little video using the coin the the bench.

Not strictly Rover-related, but… when you’ve spent half an hour balancing on top of a wobbly stack of 3 scrap cars to get a replacement electrical aerial for your 325i 20 years ago, and triumphantly fitted it for a fiver, don't get bored and switch the radio on in a car wash 10 minutes later
