Best response and what I always say, if you want to get out of a speeding ticket just don't speed. No point breaking the law then complaining about it when you get caught.
*only my opinion and should be taken as such, it is not meant to offend anyone.

Going back to Pete's original post, I think this will affect the CCTV type of cameras more than the speed cameras. I got in a terrible pickle in Reading a few years back due to very confusing street signage and ended up unintentionally in a bus lane. I received two separate fines of £90 for this 'offence' in two separate places. I successfully challenged them by pointing out the confusing signing but I bet they raked it in from other motorists before and since. It's definitely a cash cow industry for councils.

Er... always assuming that particular flavour of gov. gets in. Wishful thinking and eternal optimism, coupled with a dogged refusal to accept the real world, come to mind.

My original point was to highlight (not that its needed really) yet more halfwit politicians promising things they're incapable of/disinterested in supplying - the Coalition bunch promised the same thing.
So, a criticism of them, rather than of speed enforcement per se. Pete

In a similar vein of the topic...
What are peoples thoughts on the Snoopers? For those unfamiliar with the term, it's usually a sat nav come crash cam come speed camera detector/locator. As the cameras are usually located in a supposed 'accident hotspots', I'd like to know when I should be extra careful and a Snooper seems like a good option... |

Like most political parties, promise something, but as soon as in power it will be, well actually in the name of safety they will remain on .

Is this the same labour government that wanting to bring in pay as you drive schemes, passed laws limiting the amount of off road parking at new build housing developments and workplaces? Then there was the war on the low paid part time workers who had their income tax doubled from 10 to 20%.
I believe it is.

As they are stealth cameras, we will never know if they have been removed or not.
