CDTI Aux belt tensioner will not move
My crank pulley went, so I prepared to change it. I have the right pulley, having done this on my previous 75's. However, the aux belt tensioner will not release. The centre 24mm nut rotates, but the arm does not move.
I have done this job before, hence me having the spanner to get on the 24mm nut, but while it has not been easy, it has not been impossible before now. So two questions for those experts who have taken the tensioner off in the past. 1. How do I take tension off when the centre nut just turns? 2. Will the centre nut rotation screw the tensioner bearings up? Best wishes, Frank B |

I've had the same problem Frank, and tightened the bolt up that holds the bearing in place. It is a left handed thread and you need to get an open ended spanner on the nut behind the bearing.
Once the belt was off I backed the nut off and put a few drops of Loctite behind it before retightening to help prevent it happening again. |

Lord knows how I will get a spanner on the back, but you have told me it can be done, which is an enormous help. A lot more help than Haynes too! Best wishes, Frank B |

it can indeed be done, mike told me how to do mine as I had the same problem.
You may need to grind down the spanner that goes next to the engine block as there is little in the way of space macafee2 |
