Rymec slave cylinder any good?
As the question says really.
While engine is out my ZT v6 it’s getting; Metal master cylinder Borg & Beck clutch kit Rymec slave cylinder. However I am worried about the slave cylinder not lasting as so Many people have had repeated failure of slave cylinders in the last few years. |

You were advised back in July take a look HERE by people who have done the job before you, and what their experiences are. Rymec tend to be old stock bought up and reboxed, let us know how you get on. Brian |

For the work involved, I would opt for a LUK slave.
Or maybe a OEM-Q slave? Both available from DMGRS: https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/gen...nt=42323546128 |

Have you either fitted to your car? I mean I’ve also got a 75 at my friends barn with a dead LUK slave - that was fitted 12 months before hand. Even DMGRS are not recommending LUK slaves any more. I see a lot of people who have had an LUK part fitted years ago and have covered a substantial mileage without issue - almost certainly the old style part which were good. As for the oem-q part from dmgrs, well people on Facebook are recommending them who have not even got one fitted! or they have had one fitted, but its only done like 10k miles since fitment. We’ve got lots of these out there with 50k+ on the clock and counting, generic eBay cheapies often don’t see 100 miles let alone 10k. While not perfect, the OEM-Q part has a very good reliability record and it’s what I’d fit to my own car.

However I know someone who had an LUK slave fail after a few months, and then opted for a cheap ebay £20 slave and over two years on its fine still. |

aha yes. I mean I may well end going for one - pretty soon possibly if I choose not to fit my Rymec slave, or at a later date if I go ahead and fit the Rymec and it fails prematurely! You must understand when one is looking for recommendations on a product, one wants recommendations from someone who has actually experienced that product, not from someone who has not. I know lots of people have had the OEM-Q slave fitted and so far so good. But I have seen few if any that have covered lots of miles. |

I won't fit anything else to any car I own, or that of a customer and that is the recommendation I am making based upon the experience of fitting several 75 and ZT clutches. The Tazu master is a poor choice as supplied with the pipework being copper brake pipe which work hardens and fails, along with the resultant heavy pedal even with a new clutch. I bought a car from a member on here that was fitted with both a Tazu master and a metal slave, the slave cylinder was ok but the release bearing was noisy. I replaced the clutch with a "genuine" three part item from Rimmer Bros, LINK In their illustration it was supposed to be AP Lockheed, in reality ZUA001321 was a non branded white box special with a Chinese slave cylinder, and after a very short service period it developed serious judder You asked for an opinion, I can only speak as I find, but as you already have the clutch why not fit it and see how you get on.
