head unit

Hi guys
can a hi line head unit just be used for the radio and cd player

I take it this is to replace another type of head unit, unfortunately without the rest of the system it doesn't work on it's own.

If no Video module is fitted there isn't anything displayed on the screen and without the radio module there won't be any sound.
