Hello Brahim,

I don't know about anybody else but I'm getting confused!

It's the camshaft sensor (near the oil filler cap) which has a tendency to fail only when the engine is hot. As Martin said originally, it is only needed for starting. This is the one which you've renewed.

The crankshaft sensor signal is required for the fuel pump to run. It's not known for failing only when hot. If it did, the engine would stop. You haven't experienced this.

Your symptoms are a reluctance to start. It could be early signs of fuel filter separation but only if you have the later type of filter. I see that your car is of the year 2000 so this is doubtful. Can you confirm please Brahim?

Simon

Sorry, I asked the wrong question. Does your fuel filter have two hoops or a honeycomb design? These photographs will assist in indentification.

I will check this , thanks you.
Today, the reserve lit up while there were almost 20 litres left in the tank. I reset the ipk and the needle returned to its position. Maybe my fuel pump is showing signs of weakness. But why only when the engine is hot?

Good morning, gentlemen.
My starting problem is still there.
I changed the camshaft sensor. The battery is new.

I stopped for 30 minutes and it didn’t want to start anymore: the starter works . I unplugged the battery, cleaned the sensor, and it started.
I checked my fuel pump. I’m attaching the picture. What type of pump is that? It is different from the others.
Thank you.

Hello Brahim,

As expected your fuel filter looks as if it's the original design. This does not loosen. I'm not sure about your pump as I haven't looked at mine for a long time but the originals don't generally give trouble.

It's interesting that the engine started after cleaning your camshaft sensor. It could be a coincidence of course.

Hello Brahim, this is the fuel filter unit. Your photo indicates you have the earlier, non-separating module. This version does not suffer fuel filter separation (also known as FFS).
