I agree the Serpents do look great but the ride quality on the low profile tyres is very hard, you feel every single bump in the road through them. the difference is striking in smoother ride quality with the 15" contours.

I have long had a hankering to fit some low profile tyres to my 75 and make it look a bit more ZT like whilst maintaining the luxury and comfort of the 75. But in general will doing this affect the ride as you say? And do ZT owners put up with it as its part of the sporty feel of the car?

The ride on the Serpents was very hard & bumpy to be honest with the low profile tyres. the steering is much more lighter with the 15" contours on now, it doesn't go bang every time you run over a small bump/hole. I thought I might regret changing the Serpents but the smoother ride more than makes up for it.

Basically yes it will. The sidewall acts as part of the suspension, so larger wheels with lower profile tyres will make the ride harsher.

I will have to try a ZT one day and see for myself. Most of my driving is up the motorway so the 75 feels very comfy there, but when I go round corners etc the car does lean and passengers do have an annoying habit of grabbing the door handle! (and I'm no speed merchant!)

If operation tart-up goes well I might get a newer 75 or ZT this year, getting a lowish mileage one is only going to get harder and mine is on 153k.

Incidentally, I suspect we are near neighbours. You might have seen my wreck in the Quedgeley Tescos car park

Drove it to the supermarket and noticed the boardmonitor going on and off so suspect water in the boot. Too wet and windy to do anything about it today though

Washed & polished inside & out, cleaned the new Contour alloys I've just put on & put it back in the garage just as the rains came, perfect timing
