The V6 did not suffer that problem. Issues with the V6 (2.5 and 3.0) were leaking rocker covers due to breather pipes getting blocked as a result of constant short journeys causing pressurisation. Also oil coolers rotting after 8-10 years due to being mounted at the front bottom. Both easily fixed.

Other than the above, absolutely bullet proof engines.

I had the above addressed at 8 years old as a preventative measure, including a stainless cooler, and never had any issues with the car.
