I have an unused Specialist Components stat.

If you'd like to buy it, just fire over a PM.

Blimey, almost a thousand posts on this question and the answer is a Renault 5!
Pretty good results too, from what I read elsewhere.

I'm fitting a inhose 'stat today. its a QH 205 the only one my motor shop had that would fit, 38mm diameter. i'm just a bit worried about the flow through so i've opened up the small hole in it by 2mm. If it doesnt work out i've only spent £6! I'll post up the results soon.

Edit; The 'stat is Qh114 not 205. same size but must be different temperature range.
Can anyone tell me what they used to remove the metal band on the top hose? I've tried cutting through it with dremmel type whizzer but the cutting discs are rubbish . thanks in advance!

Eric

This has been covered before in this thread and Renault Stat thread.
No need to make a hole..........that will lengthen your warm up time defeating the object.

You have to use quality brand tools (not Dremil, they are domestic DIY quality!)
Mine are hardened tools some in the set have diamond heads
