Cool Sabine Schmitz has passed away.

It is with great sadness, Nürburgring Queen Sabine Schmitz has lost her race against cancer.
Sabine Schmitz had been mentioned in one breath with the Nürburgring for decades. She was the only woman to win a 24-day race in the Green Hell. Today the motorsport family reaches the sad news that Sabine Schmitz has died after a long battle with cancer.
With her racing assignments with Hannes Scheid in the Eifelblitz, her successes with Frikadelli Racing and as a TV star on "Top Gear" she got the title "Queen of the Nürburgring". Hardly anyone else has driven as many laps on the Nordschleife as Sabine Schmitz, who was born in Nürburg.

She sure put those three TG amigos in their place, round the Ring, she was incredible, may she rest in peace.

I had just read about her untimely death, before logging on to the 75 club site.

She certainly threw that transit into the corners, whilst shouting out her encouragement to herself. A very memorable top gear episode.

She appeared as a guest a few more times.

Thoughts for her family, friends, and co-drivers.

Mike

Such sad news.

Loved her appearances on Top Gear. A terrific driver, and great fun in front of the camera as well. Always thought they should have given her the job when Clarkson & co left.

I remember that one, she tells Clarkson she can do that in a van.
She is still young.
Thoughts go to her family and friends
