Default Heater Matrix

I have to replace my heater matriix owing to leaks from it. My car is a 1999, diesel, LHD, 2.0, CDT, manual.
I read the excellent item on Heater Matrix removal, but I'd like to know if there is anything holding the Matrix into the heater module except the screws (2) holding the pipes together against the module???
If I remove those 2 screws and split the pipes will the matrix just slide out?
Any input is always welcome as I'm out here in Spain, Costa Blanca.

Yes, that's it. It just slides out. A word of warning, the wrap around clips are pretty awful, be careful not to distort them and be sure pipes are pushed fully home as you re-tighten them.

Thanks Heddy.
For such a complicated piece of vehicle it's nice to find something relatively simple. Shame the guy who placed the clutch master cylinder wasn't so helpful, or the guy who designed the in tank fuel system, or the guy who placed the ECU in such a stupid spot.
What a nice surprise!
Thanks again.

Red face Help

Well I managed to remove the matrix and to do it without damaging the pipework.
However, getting the new one in has been a real B*** Ache.
After hours of struggling I got the bottom pipe to mate up with the matrix and managed to get the clip in place, securely, I hope.
The reasoning that i did the lower one first was that it would help bring the top pipe closer to the matrix.
Now I find that the clip for the top pipe has only marginal movement available and the pipe/matrix are not mating. I can't get into the space properly to secure a good mating.
Any help on how to get the top pipe to move to join the matrix would be very welcome. I have limited tools available to assist me though. No clamps or compressors. Just everyday DIY tools.
Thanks again.

Hiya, really feel for you having done this job. I'm sure some members have cut the pipes and joined them with jubilee clips and rubber hose. So tight in there, can't find pics but maybe someone else can. A dremmel or other tool may be useful, or even a pipe cutter. Obviously, I'm not suggesting you do this because you can end up with even more trouble. This will bump the thread to the top for a while so maybe someone can help.

Hiya, if you're gonna take the route of cutting the pipes and fitting pieces of hose, then this may help

You want to see where they put the ECU on a Mondeo 4, now THAT is stupid.

I too would go for 'cut the pipes and fit the hoses'. In the long run faster and quicker. Also playing with the original pipes can still end you up with coolant leaks.----

I’ve done this. I realised pretty early on I wasn’t going to get them back together with the clips. I cut the flanges off both ends and used 16 or 18 mm heater hose and four small jubilee clips. Tighten them up and applied sealant. It leaked a bit after a few days but tightened up the clips.

That's what I'll do then. Thanks to all. I'm back in UK for Xmas in a couple of days, so it'll have to wait until I get back in mid January. I'll keep you all updated next year.
Thanks to everyone for all the input.
If the Mondeo 4 is worse positioned I'd be gobsmacked. Thanks Vanbursta.
