Gave my Molly new oil, air, oil and fuel filters. Even better the fuel filter I got from eurocarparts was listed at £32 except one that showed only a few quid, hit buy thinking it wouldn't be honoured, but it was. After discount I paid £3.27 for the fuel filter.

Rear Subframe
Manage to wrestle the rear subframe off today, during the showers it is most certainly a two man job, as you can not balance the subframe properly on the trolley jack, to lower it down.
1 2 3 4 5 I made a lifting template to help guide the new one back into place. 6 7 8 9 This should help lift it up squarely, with out it tipping forward and aft. 10

After all the problems I've had with Karens new zt derv we took it to East kirby.
The maestro himself marinabrian and his t4 went to work on it, Brian virginised the ecu and reprgrammed it after which it started to speak to everything else on the car. The drive south was brilliant, with working cruise and rain sensing wipers doing its job, the car changing gear correctly and the hunting of the engine gone, it was a real pleasure to drive home , now as good as my own derv. So a big thankyou Brian |

Looking forwards...
Legatha's headlights and front sidelights have had new bulbs fitted, standard wattage H1, H7, T10 units, but with the blue coating that makes the light whiter, and then the lenses have been polished to make all the yellow go away! Bright lights and lenses knock years off a car's appearance.
I also introduced some Wynns Radflush to the coolant - hasn't used any since I bought her in April '22, driven 2000 miles, but it seems there's some oil in the coolant, probably from the previous, but now fixed hgf. I found a lot of mayo on the cap. Thankfully no reciprocal exchange between coolant into lubricant appears to have occurred. I'll leave the Radflush for a week, then drain and refill with OAT!

New subframe
Today finally got to manoeuvre the new subframe into place on the NUK.
The template for lifting it up with the trolley jack worked a treat. 1 I held the subframe to the plate with bungie cords. 2 3 Slowly pushed under the car and raised onto some all thread x 2 4 5 Then added the new bolts and washers. 6 7 Exhaust to fit tomorrow and put all the cables back into place.

Can confirm: it's been one job after another ever since the winter hit! For example: last Thursday the handbrake compensator gave up completely...
Mind you, it was running perfectly fine until then. I can only hope it will be fine again once I get everything sorted this Summer... |
