Default Rolling Road Day - Saturday 9th February 2013

I am pleased to announce a Rolling Road event on Saturday 9th February 2013 at 10am!

The event will be held at Awesome GTI in Manchester

They have a great reputation with the VAG followers, a lovely shiney workshop and of course a 1000BHP 200MPH rolling road.

The usual cost for a rolling road session is £60+VAT, as a special discount to club members we have been offered the same service for only £35 including VAT.

For your money you will get three attempts on the rolling road and a printout with all three runs on.

There is a waiting room with a coffee machine and you will be very close to the vehicle, which will be cordoned off for safety.

There is a minimum of 10 attendees or the event will be cancelled, plus payment must be made in full no later than Friday 1st February.

I see no reason to confine this to Rover 75's and MG ZT's, if you know someone who will enjoy the day but don't have a MGR they are welcome too, the more the merrier (they still need to book and pay me first though)

The address is

Awesome GTI
Unit 1 Siemens Road
Northbank Industrial Park
Irlam
Manchester
M44 5AH

I need to get the deposit of the minimum of 10 (£350) to them as soon as possible to make sure that we can keep the date, so if you are interested please PM me asap and I will let you have my Paypal address to send a gift payment to.

Don't worry, should it turn out that we cannot muster 10 cars to attend, you will get a full refund.

Attendees: 15
Confirmed: 13

Please be aware that regional meets are not official 75 & ZT Owners Clubs meets and as such are not covered by the clubs public liability insurance.
Also the Owners Club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

EDIT:

As an interest in a pint afterwards has been expressed, and as our regular meeting place is part of the Orchid Pub chain, can I suggest that we convene afterwards at another Orchid Group pub

The Cherry Tree
35 Common Lane
Culcheth
Warrington
Cheshire
WA3 4EX
Telephone: 01925 762624

There is parking for about 50 cars, is only 5 miles away which is about 12 minutes according to Google maps. If it is anything like our regular meet location, it should be great too.

No deposit, just payment in full before the 2nd February.

Please don't leave payment until last minute as I have to get the £350 for the 10 places paid before then!

I think this is a little overpriced for a rolling road day (where the garage knows they are going to be earning a guaranteed pretty penny for a couple of hours work).

Also, I hate most things VAG, and most of the people I come across who seem to drive them these days, and don't really want to attend a VAG specialist with her majesty, put my hard-earned in their pockets, and then have to listen to them belittle our Rovers and smugly preach about how wonderful their TDI's are etc...

Tis a shame, but rolling road days should be max £25 per car.

Thanks to those who've helped, providing advice and info, supplying/manufacturing parts, even fitting things for me!

I think people who aren't interested in going for whatever reason need not comment and keep their comments to themselves. For the many people who are and want to attend it puts a dampener on it, and especially offends the person/people who have gone to some effort to organise the event, especially as it has to be done in their own time (and own cost with phone bills, time, etc.).
I'd like to thank you Rich for organising this, and can you please put me down for it?
