Default Panel tooling

There is a letter on page 35 of Practical Classics from a Mark Williams, suggesting that all panel tooling for the 75 is now lost, such that even wings are unavailable. Is this true and what is the situation re panel availability?

Errm ..

Didn't the tooling go to China so they could make their versions
I would doubt they remade all the press tools again!!

I thought that Rimmers had most body panels in stock.

I remember seeing 45 front bumper moulds in a skip on an industrial estate in birmingham around five years ago. I was thinking of rescuing them but with used bumper prices so low it wasn't worth it.

That puts my mind at rest! I as aware that the press tooling had disappeared east but was under the impression that most things were still available.

The letter in PC gave the impression that poor panel availability was making very slightly damaged cars Cat D write offs.

You can still buy a full 75 shell from Rimmers.
