Default Exhaust banging against anti roll bar

My exhaust is banging against something in certain situations. I’ve attached a photo of the rear anti roll bar close to the exhaust where I think the issue is. The exhaust came on the car, and may just be a cheap badly fitting exhaust. What I wanted to ask was:
Has anybody had a similar issue, if so how did you resolve it?
It seems like a lump of rubber between the two would cure the problem, has anyone bodged anything this way before?
It’s an MGZTT CDTi by the way, MK1 2003

Similar but not the anti-roll bar, and I think rubber would quickly melt.

My exhaust was knocking on the cross member due to tired rubber hangers. Solution was to undo the clamp to the rear silencer, new hangers, a block of 1" thick wood placed on top of the cross member and then re-tighten. It's now become my routine when helping local members change the rear silencer to always have a block of wood there before tightening the clamp.

Regards

Old rubbers can be the problem , but the alignment of the rear box to the middle pipe often causes knocking noises . Loosening , twisting and retightening does indeed lift the pipe and usually solves it
Never tried the block of wood but it sounds like a good idea !

Could I just check Mike, would the wooden piece be sandwiched between the cross member and the back box? Probably stating the obvious, but thought it worth a check…

On the rearmost crossmember, with the central section of the exhaust above it. Hope it makes sense now?

Hi Eddie.
Open the double clamp it the photo and re-adjust the back box section so it does not connect with the rear anti roll bar, that is your best solution.

Thanks everyone. A bit of twisting and turning sorted it.
