Not my car, but finally managed to help dad replace injector number 1 on his Mondeo TDCi.

Buy only after having to borrow Jamie's impact driver to remove the old one first. Cheers Jamie.

Two bits of good news today. Went with my wife to the Birmingham Eye Hospital for her check up this morning, after having four operations for glaucoma on her eyes this year. Excellent results all round. Then the diesel went for an mot, the first for two years, as it has been on sorn, and yes, it passed. Think I will have a tot of whisky later to celebrate. Or two.

Today i went for a nice drive over to see David Bourne, to pick up this lovely rear subframe with lower and upper arms, original drop links, it is like brand new.

I needed to change out my upper arms and was going to buy some new ones from DMGRS, but saw this last night contacted David now it's mine really pleased.

I can now exchanged the subframe all in one go, he does have a few more if anyone is interested.

They are from Spain so that is the reason why they are like new, just goes to show how good weather can help our cars.

I bought a complete subframe and arms etc (like yours) from Portugal a few years ago. However, even with 2 coats of hammerite all over, rust has reared its ugly face already in places!!

I am in high hopes, that after i have treated the subframe, that it will last as long as the one on now, i could have bought upper and lower arms which would have cost me more than the whole set cost so im an happy fellow

Took out the window switchpack as the n/s mirror was being a bit selective about when to move. A quick clean and it now works tickety-boo.

Next job is to take a look at the fuel senders as the gauge is showing empty despite it having a good quarter tank in it right now. Using the dash OBD I ad a look at the figures and it looks like I'm taking up the back seat tomorrow.

Default Rear Subframe (David Bourne )

Gave the new subframe it's quick drying gold coating.
1

Let that dry so it was just tacky, and gave the arms a coat of anthracite black paint.
2

Then did the rest of the subframe including the lower arms.
3

This is only the underside of the subframe, the top will be done either tomorrow or Friday.

Once the anthracite was dry, it got a clear coat.
4

I purchased this subframe form (David Bourne ) PM for his identity

Thought for the moment that you might be changing your name to Goldfinger, till I saw the black paint in the next two pictures!
