Help! Rotted 2.0 V6 rear offside wishbone needed
Help! I took the car in for a check on a leaking exhaust this morning, it's the bit of the front downpipe with the cat!
The mechanic found that the offside rear wishbone (rear suspension arm) is rotted and needs replacing ASAP. Does anyone have a solid unit for a 2002 Connie 2.0 V6 that I can buy? I'm without wheels at the moment now. This is a car that was MoT's seven months ago. I may have found a good spare. Fingers crossed. Thanks, Jim

I'll print the page with the suspension arms and give it to the boss. He said that they do almost all the Rovers in the area and always have trouble sourcing these arms. Good price too. Thanks again, Jim

No way would I consider a weld repair on a component like that - glad you are now sorted.

I often have the grandchildren in the car so was horrified to see the state of that arm.The guy I got it from did not actual lie about the condition of the car, but he carefuly glossed over the faults. "His mechanic", who was "the best mechanic that he had ever met", said that the car was solid in and out, but now I know better. I did wonder why he (mechanic) wouldn't give me a business card or even his number! The seller did not inform the DVLA about the transfer and I had to get in touch with them myself to get the V5. All the handbooks and service records that were going to be sent to me never appeared either. Quote:
I've called him the seller, as I would not insult the genuine traders by including him under that title. The work being done at the moment is not going to be cheap, but the car does look pretty good underneath, apart from the suspension arm and some bushes up front that had collapsed. All is not lost, and hopefully I'll have a good car at the end of this. Jim
