Engine all back together - a Few Pics
Well, yesterday everything finally went back into the engine bay, with no left over bits to cause me sleepless nights. She started up first time, with a few wisps of smoke from the 'bay as various oils and such like burnt off. She soon settled down, and sounded nice and quiet.
This morning I started her up and she was good as gold, no nasty knocking noises. She really needs a good shake down run I guess, but with the ciurrent restrictions, that may not happen for a while. Instead, after letting her warm up on the drive, I spent a happy morning in the sun sorting out all the shiny bits under the bonnet. She now looks better than ever, and best of all, no longer has a nasty knock from cold A few pics taken this morning: [/img]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49764617028_bb9c463758_b.jpg[/img] And a couple of weeks or so back for comparison: The only real downside: Many of the parts that I spent so long cleaning, simply can't be seen now everything is back in place . Oh well, it kept me amused for a week or 3 I guess. Cliff

Very impressive! And good that the noise is gone as well.
Russell must have had a tough time working with white gloves on!

An absolute tribute to your hard, very hard work ethic. Although mine is nowhere like as clean and shiny, I have never understood how people can let their engine bays look like it is a refuse tip or sand pit.one way or another, I usually have a busy time doing other things, but, if I have any time to spare, it has always been spent fiddling with motors. Who knows, if I spent a bit more time on mine it would begin looking like yours.........immaculate. Well done Cliff.

Thanks Bob, it's a relief to see her back in one piece. I have to say, it's impressive to see Russell at work, he really knows his way around an engine bay Another diamond to add to the list of Lates & co. We really are quite fortunate to have so many gurus to call upon.

Now I can see where the wiring chafes as it goes over the box section! Thank you.
