I ventured out to my car today and replaced the lower engine mount with a proper diesel item, stamped with an M, replaced the hydra mount with a nice new one both items from MGRoverspares and fitted my Bosch MAF which turned up today from Opie oils.
A nice relatively clean 3 hour work session in the wonderful December sunshine at 11 degrees.!!

Thanks for the encouragement John.

Anyone need a Chinese petrol lower engine mount for a V6/diesel sourced from DMGRS give me a shout. Only fitted for 768 miles since Dec 6th. £20

Had a nice drive down to Suffolk, the obligatory air bag light popped on after Sally satnav took us down a bumpy lane, so after stopping for a bite to eat and a cuppa, wiggled the underseat wiring and all is well again in the warning light department! (Must get the contact cleaner out tomorrow!). Happy Old Year! PLUS

Link for Andy and Debs.

Changed the oil and air filter on the tourer, and tightened up the exhaust heat shield with large penny washers.

Found coolant in my V again

Looks like thermostat number 4 might be coming soon....now to decide whether I go for new belts and water pump while it's going to be in bits....oh and new cooling fan to be fitted too.

Default Headlights and VIS motors.

- Cleaned up the headlights with the Turtle Wax Headlight Cleaner (mentioned and recommended in the current "Well impressed" thread) Worked really well.

- Fitted the two new VIS motors I recently bought from Dave (Stocktake) and enjoyed the increased torque / performance .... lovely job ... thanks Dave!

I reckon I'll be losing a few mpg now....! Out of interest I'll continue tracking what mpg the computer / display shows.

I only use the car for the longer trips and it consistently shows between 37 and 40 mpg. Wishful thinking rather than reality of course, but let's see what the new VIS's and a temptation of a heavier right foot do to it ...

HNY all

John

Cool

Filled Banana up with some go go juice. And checked the tyre pressures on the Bear.

Default Parcel from Lithuania

Found myself having to explain to my wife why a large box of car spares has arrived despite the fact our joint bank account has been heavily depleted by the joy that is Christmas.
More Lithuanian S/H parts (no cup-holders) - this time the complete electric rear blind assembly (essential for our scorching British summers) and a complete switch panel with the essential blind up/down switch fitted.
A few short hours later and the blind was in place and working well - happy days!
