Default 2002 Copperleaf Rover 75 Manual CDT Tourer Connoisseur (For Spares and Repairs)

REDUCED TO £250 ono now for spares and repairs

2002 Rover 75 Manual CDT Tourer Connoisseur in Copperleaf Red (CDX) with Crown Alloys and Sandstone Beige Leather interior (SCF)

Came to check it over today for the MOT and found a few issues that will need some attention to get it through. The offside rear spring and upper arm will need replacing. The sill will need welding around the nearside rear jacking point. There may be other issues but that's as far as I got before deciding there was little chance of me getting it through the MOT by Wednesday. It is a very reluctant sale, currently I don't have the space or time to do the work on it. As mentioned above it is being sold as spares and repairs.

MOT'd until this wednesday 15th May 2019 and is about 166,000 miles at time of writing.

We have had this 75 for just under 2 years. We bought it for my wife’s business as it had the space we needed to transport equipment and having already had a diesel 75 knew that it had plenty of life left in it.

In the time we have had it, it has had a few repairs done and has been maintained regularly. As it was for business use we kept it in good condition mechanically, we couldn’t afford to have it not be available for a job.
The exterior is in fair condition, there are plenty of small knocks and scrapes. The previous elderly lady owner was finding it a bit of a struggle to drive as a couple of the knocks will show, she managed to catch the offside front on the gatepost while we were viewing it!
The front offside wing and bumper had also been previously knocked and repaired; there is also a crease in the rear bumper and lower plastic trim of the tailgate.
The interior is in quite good condition, none of the leather is ripped, and the carpets are reasonably clean for their age. Matching genuine rover floor mats are included. The radio, tape and CD changer in the glovebox all work well. All switches and buttons function correctly. Electrically adjustable front seats work fine. The seat heaters work, but are not fantastic. The air conditioning and climate control works really well. The radiator fan motor has been replaced and the up-rated gold resistor has been fitted.
The boot space is clean and tidy. The previous owner used to take her 3 Labradors about in the boot so this had suffered some chewing to several bits of trim, the majority of which I have replaced. The dog guard and boot space “roller blinds” are intact and working. Under the boot floor is a full size matching alloy wheel and from what I can tell the full toolkit that this model would have come with. Alloy locking key, jack, wheel brace, chocks, screwdriver and jack handle. Even the little light works! The warning triangle is in its case in the tailgate itself. The heated rear window works on all bar 1 line if I remember rightly and the wiper and both tailgate and glass buttons work.

2 keys are included but only one will start and unlock the car remotely. The second is just an empty case. It only had the one key when we bought it so I bought a replacement case and blade and had it cut so we at least had a second to unlock the car with. The driver’s door will currently not unlock electronically but works fine with the key in the lock. It will however lock fine electronically. We had the same issue on the passenger front door when we bought it so I bought a second hand mechanism to replace it, this has been working perfectly ever since.

The engine is great, starts and runs well, have never had an issue with it even in the cold weather. The thermostat was replaced within a few weeks of us buying the car with one of DMGRS’s uprated units and still works perfectly. The breather filter has also been replaced. The clutch master cylinder was replaced about a year ago with a metal TAZU unit. The clutch feels smooth and the bite is not high at all. The clutch and DMF were replaced 4 years ago and have the invoice to prove this. The gear changes are good but first and second can be a little tough to engage when the gearbox is cold, but after 5 mins of normal driving once it has warmed up it is fine. A gearbox fluid change may improve this, something I haven’t got round to doing. Steering is good. It has a fuel burning heater, but I have only witnessed it working once.

I have some service history, invoices and other bits of paperwork included with it.

Feel free to ask anything, I’ll happily supply more photos if required.
Viewing is welcome. Currently in the Skipton area of North Yorkshire.

Looking for offers in the area of £250.
