Exclamation YT Downloader.

Last week my computer was 'attacked' by many unwanted downloads. I ran an Avast boot time scan which found and successfully remove 21 infected files. However, there is one which I cannot remove, YT Downloader. No doubt some of you have heard of it. Going to Control Panel, Uninstall Programmes, cannot remove it. My son has recommended Spybot. Any one used this, or can recommend something else that they have used successfully?

Chad.

Try uninstalling it in safe mode, as it runs in the background all the time.

Good to hear.

Might be worth having a look at your Installed Programs list, check for anything installed on the same date, just in case anything else is there which shouldn't be.

Seems that doesn't work - just gives an error "The uninstall process has been interrupted, possibly by a conflicting process or lack of internet connection".

Just another tip, if it does come back, despite Revo apparently removing all traces, turn off system restore, then run Revo again.

These unwanted programs often leave 'copies' in system restore and then auto reinstall, turning SR off prevents this, and it can be safely turned on again after the offending program has been dealt with.
