Default 220 Coupe Turbo (9K miles!)

This is potentially for sale.Nothing to do with me and I don't know the owner, but if anyone has a genuine interest I'm happy to pass details on.On the surface it sounds like a unique opportunity for someone.Pic's on request I believe.

Coppied from another forum.....

Hi All

My dad owns a (FDH) Rover Turbo Coupe, he has had this car from new and currently has aprrox 9000 miles on it.....yes you read right !!!

This vehicle is like brand new it has been garaged all its life its has mats on its carpet mats to protect them LOL....my dad has made sure this car is like the day he purchased it...

Its is Thaiti blue with full Grey leather, due to it being the Jap spec it has 6 cd player and third level brake light.

It has FSH with Rover but has been stored the last 4 years. My dad has mentioned selling it due to illness but is not really sure of its value.

As you can all understand this car is not a £2000 turbo ! Its is like brand new never been modified. I was wondered if anyone may have an idea of what the vehicle could fetch wether it be at a Classic Auction or privately.

Many Thanks
Tara

2/3/4k I could handle, but when I saw 6k I nearly spat my morning coffee over the keyboard!

I love these cars and good ones are getting so hard to find. How do you put a value and an example like this?

I'd have another one in a heartbeat, but one like this I'd be afraid to use in anger.

I agree its hard to price, but how can someone say they have no idea of its value, and ask what it is worth and then reject 6k?

yes probably a 1 off car, but only to the right person who is willing to pay. I would suggest the price depends on how quick he wants to sell, he may have to wait a long time to achieve the right price me thinks

I'm biased about these cars having owned one from when it was less than a year old,12 years in December.I loved them from the moment I first saw one, pace and beuty rolled into one (imo). What is this top spec full Rover history 9K miler worth?Only one answer really, what someone is prepared to pay for it.If I was in the market for one I would be prepared to pay 6K + for it (subject to detailed inspection) as it will be a very very long time before another like this crops up.200bhp standard from the factory,0-60 6.2 seconds, the fastest production Rover ever produced. For those who have never been for a spin in one of these, the performance is truely exhilarating.I would agree that to some it's just an old rover regardless of it's mileage and condition,to others like myself it's a rare opportunity to own something truely beutiful.Just my ten pence worth of course

I once bought a 12 year old 420G Daimler auto in Bournemouth, with 14K on the clock and full service history etc. one lady owner from new, lovely car with all the bits.. The car was light Blue so I put a gold coach line down each side and took it to "Top car sales" at Brighouse.

It failed to meet it's £1000 reserve the first time, so I took the reserve off and put it through again, it finally sold for £910

I gave £800 for it originally, and thought I stole it...
