Troubleshooting SRS light with Toaf
Hi.
So I have SRS light on my dash. When I turn my car on, it appears, then disappears for a few seconds and then comes back on and stays on. Sometimes (like once a month), SRS light stays out after turning my car on and comes back on after driving on cobblestone road/sometimes doesn't, but every time it comes back on after I turn my car off and on again. I have wiggled airbag connectors under front seats and sprayed these with cleaner as well. I also soldered right side passenger seat wire to get rid of the connector which is prone to issues (I have left hand drive car). Haven't had time to solder the driver side wires yet. Now I scanned my car with TOAF and found some issues, which I need help with (can not understand what they mean, since they don't have original Rover error codes with them). Could anyone take a look at that picture and maybe can tell, what is the issue? Best regards and thank you for your time |

Nice to see you've used your computer skills and got Toaf up and running.
I believe Toaf is telling you that you've got a problem with the signal to/from the left airbag sensor which is under the carpet roughly in line with the B pillar. This is often caused by leaks resulting in a very wet carpet. Have a look at the sensor and see if it is corroded, usually a white oxide. As the fault is intermittent you might be lucky and just need to clean the connectors, otherwise it's a replacement sensor. Regards |

Hope I'm right asking here.
Seen some used side sensors on e-bay, and some are green and some orange. Are they diferent sensors for diferent places in the system, or are they the same sensor for diferent cars. Thanks Regards |

Is there any way to know the one I need without dismantling half of car's interior, and then waiting for the part to arrive?
Car is a 2002 V6 2.0. Is it earlier or later Thanks |

Small update from me too. I have still not gotten to removing driver seat and checking on that sensor (no garage space atm and weather is, well, pretty disgusting. But i put some pressure on it and wiggled near it through carept, and SRS light went out until I drove through a pothole. So mine isn't broken and just needs some contact cleaning and tightening up or re-soldering connections (90% sure it will fix it. fingers crossed)
