Default What is this and where is it from?

I found this on the floor just in front of my car. What is it and where does it go?
I have the radiator and condenser off. The top hose, bottom hose and the small hose to the header tank are hanging loose.
The intercooler hoses are hanging also
The "rust" on the top ring makes me think it is to do with the coolant.
It just appeared, sitting there. I do think the black seal separates from the white seal, I think time has sweated them together.

This could be a Red Herring and nothing to do with the car.
I have looked at Rimmers web site, to see if I could see a picture of it on a parts diagram but nothing looked like it.

baffled

I could be wrong, but the FBH temperature sensor has some “washers” that I’ve always found difficult to fit back the same way as they were taken off. Looks a bit like those iirc.🤔
Did you take the FBH temperature sensor off?

If it is on the FBH, no, if it is somewhere else, no idea.

Hi Ian.
I think Sean is referring to the washers maybe that holds the temp sensor for the FBH to the rail in the photo below.

Looking like they are indeed from the temperature sensor. I never saw them fall off.

thanks for the advice
