Auto gearbox position indicator

Hello,can anyone help.
Auto box is working fine all gears available. However the gear selector indicator next to the stick shows the red indicator for both neutral and drive at the same time when in the drive position. Also the dash indicator shows nothing when in drive. All other indicators and positions are fine. It has been comming and going with no real pattern,some times when manually gearing down then back up it shows the correct D position,as said before all gears,shifts,and behaviour are fine.one last thing when showing the incorrect displays as mentioned the box does not lock-up as it should,as soon as the indicators show the correct position the box will lock-up under the appropriate load.it seems to me as if a contact somewhere in the linkage is loose,worn,slipping ? I cannot help you on this but,
Someone I'm sure will be along shortly to assist you with more Information.
You only need to put an entry in The Technical section,
Moderators will remove extra Thread or Merge posts, as it gets confusing running two Threads on same Problem at same time.
