Default Cdti no life at fuel pumps mk1

Just come across a strange one cars been fine,laid up for a couple of months doing suspension work gone to start now wont fire up checked the ecu bone dry,checked relay in footwell all fine,checked the inertia switch all good,checked fuses and none blown,i bridged the relay and hey presto it starts ?? Put another known good relay in no go checked behind fusebox for issues all good,can anyone shed any light as im sure im not the only one come across this issue thanks in advance

Check pin 10 hasn't rotted off connector CO331 of the ECM, second connector nearest the injector loom, bottom light most pin looking directly at the connector

This runs in the loom as a black and purple wire, which provides the pull in ground for the fuel pump relay.

You can temporarily connect a ground wire to this pin by opening the ECM and carefully grounding the pin arrowed in this picture......



If the wiring is sound, the fuel pump will run

I've seen the black and purple wire break where it enters the plug on more than a couple of occasions now Matt, hopefully it will be a simple fix

I had same reaction ? and thought if it is the Orange grove as if the ECM & EWS/ Transponder have been changed over somethings are not going to work as they should, disregarding which car it is that must be the last resort surely.
