I got my adjustable mirrors working by taking the switch apart and cleaning it as per the excellent "How To" and I cleaned my offside sill with degreaser and a toothbrush in preparation for painting.

Replaced the drivers door seal with a good 2nd hand one. Replaced the worn climate control module with an undamaged one. Replaced the broken battery cover with a new one. Still trying to cure the boot leaks.

There are several areas of ingress where water gets in the boot. Have you checked the rubber seal round the boot lid? The rear lights are another area. The seals that fit between the lights to the body leak. There’s two you can have a check of first.

Minor seepage from the side vents seems to have been cured with Capt Tolley's. Body seams near boot hinges treated with Capt Tolley's. I lifted the boot seal and have treated the body seams with Capt Tolley's. Waiting for the next bit of rain now. |

Absolute filth magnet
Headed down to the south coast yesterday to visit my daughter at uni. ZT performed like a dream. Even my better half said she was running better than ever. Only problem is that dark navy is a filth magnet. The car looks like it’s never seen a bucket of the soapy stuff. Would have posted a pic, but struggling to get it to work. Guess I’ll have to break out the jet wash next weekend!

This weekend I got the driver's door switch fully working by pulling it out and cleaning up the contacts as per the excellent "how-to" on here.
Today I stuck a hosepipe up the holes in the sills where the sill jacking pads would be if they weren't all missing ( well, three out of four anyway) and I was amazed at the amount of mud I flushed out. Which is good, obviously. Now I'm just not sure if I should replace the jacking pads to stop the ingress of dirt or leave them off to aid ventilation and just flush the sill out with the hosepipe every few months or so. Also gave the newly welded offside sill a good scrubbing with various brushes in preparation for painting it when the weather warms up a bit. Have a big session with Lates600 next Saturday. Water pump, thermostat and various suspension parts. By next weekend I will have spent over £800 on the car in less than a month and I still need a new battery. The car probably isn't worth that but I'm determined to keep it on the road for as long as possible. |

Changed a water pump and thermostat today, I'm not sure how it wasnt leaking as the play in the bearing was excessive to say the least.
