However, if I ever decide to change the front end it would be for the best front end of them all, the mk1 MG ZT! That's my favourite front.[/QUOTE] Quite agree. Both my ZTs are Mk1. |

I prefer the facelift for selfish reasons really. I've owned both but the 04's onward are generally not as rusty as the Mk1's because they're not so old. I have a facelift at present and it doesn't look as 'dated' as a Mk1. I notice no difference in the ride quality or build quality for that matter. Comes down to whether you want a classic or a modern classic I guess.

Early pre facelift (mk1) cars suit the more traditional elder gentleman driver image of the Rover 75.. But facelift styling suits the ZT far better..

Both of mine are Mk2's, the ZTT looks sharper and 'more modern', the 75 still looks neat and tidy compared to the massively over-designed blobs of today.

Has a MK1 front end/bumper ever successfully been grafted into place on a Mk2 facelift?

I have in mind a butchered Firefrost (ISH) facelift two door with a butchered Mk1 ZT front bumper. My ZT is currently wearing Mk1 bumpers and headlights, I prefer the MK1 ZT, but I like the look of my Mk2 75, and don't think it or indeed the Mk1 are any less attractive, simply different. Brian |

Rover 75....which one.
I do prefer the Mk2, I am now on my second Mk2 and still love it. I do think the Mk2 is much more modern looking than the Mk1. Which I suspect was Rover intent, to modernise the car without a big budget. I understand some peoples opinion that quality was compromised on the Mk2. Personally I think the Mk 2 is still head and shoulders above most cars in its price range and well worthy of the name Rover. I certainly don't subscribe to some comments I read,
which seem to have a hint of model snobbery to the later model. |

The Mk2 suits the MG-ZT a lot better in my option.... I also think the Bonnet dose not seem to sit as well with the gap from the bonnet to the bumper.
