Samarkand's Technical Problems

Hello everyone,
Some of you may remember me as I was active on the forum back in the day. My career made me move to another country for work, but my 75 stayed in France (still in the family since year 2000). I would disconnect the battery before each departure and reconnect it whenever I would visit back to France (every 3 months or so). Last November, I came back to take her for a road trip from Paris to Belgium. I connected the battery and all went as usual except that on halfway on my trip, I had messages in my display stating ABS Failure, Brakes Failure, Traction Control Failure). Also, the auto box remained in 4th gear even in the D position. The car would start from standstill in 4th and never shift (up or down). P, R,N positions are operational as usual. D, 4, 3 and 2 only puts it in 4th...One other element: the alternator temperature is very high while usually it was not. After arriving to destination in Belgium, she would not start after a 4-hour stop at 3°C temperature... I called the rescue who came, put a booster battery and we could start the car. He suggested to change the battery (manufactured in 2010) and the alternator. I made it back to Paris at reduced speed (75 kph) disconnected the battery (alternator temp very high - I left the motor cover open for 10 minutes to evacuate the heat). I came back on X-mas, I changed the battery. She started promptly. I took her out for a run to see if the problem was solved. Sadly, it was not and after 7 kms, all the same problems appeared again. I managed to get home, park and disconnect the battery and opened the engine cover to vent the alternator again. I called my mechanic who said it may be humidity in the gearbox (don't see how as she is always in an underground parking and don't drive her in bad weather conditions). Also, he could not check her and put her on the T4 before another month (only mechanic still available in Paris and suburbs)
