Thanks for the offer John. Think its taken care of now, there is one word on the grave stone that we don't seem to be able to fathem out though, I have a photo but I'm finding it somewhat difficult to copy down. I wonder if inverting the colours in paint would help.

Should do Phil, or turn it Negative or if you have Photoshop or know someone who has that should help sort it out.

tried to no avail. It is one line I can't read. Not to worry. It looks to me like one huge long word.

Oh, John, any idea where the photo was taken? Clue north Wales

Family tree has taken another twist... Doing my Mums side now and it would seem that my Great Grandfather was Irish. Does anyone know of any online stuff that could trace irish family history? All the ones I try are England, Wales and Scotland.

I'm of Irish blood myself, both mum and dad are Irish and I even have an Irish passport.

I thought of doing something similar, but we're a rather large family. My dad is the eldest of 17 (my grandparents clearly didn't have television ) and I have 52 first cousins in my generation, just on my dads side

I gave up before I even started

17!!! Blimey, The Irish name is Lally, BTW. With this side I really don't know where to start. I think my great grandfather was born in 1903 in Ireland.
