National Trust
Went to the National Trust's Upton House yesterday - near Edge Hill, Warwickshire (as in Battle of Edge Hill). Several ZTT's and 75's were there - a whole bunch of em in fact.
Upton House has one of the best 'back gardens' in England. It's stunning and is well worth a visit if you're within striking distance. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main.../w-uptonhouse/ Another absolute stunner is Broughton Castle. It's not far from Upton House and is one of the loveliest sights in all England. If you're a bloke and you want a romantic day out with your good lady - this is the one. http://www.broughtoncastle.com/index.htm A few pics of Upton: Last edited by Simon W; 12th April 2007 at 09:25.. |

Unfortunately I didn't have any flyers printed (printer is short of toner), so they all escaped the club's clutches.
Perhaps they were members anyway - one dark blue ZTT, one dark green Tourer, one metallic blue 75, amongst others. |

Some of those trees are enormous - at least 100 feet. They must be ancient - perhaps they're 'Ents'.

Not guilty Lightpainter! I don't even have a good lady of my own (sadly). Broughton Castle speaks for itself - one of the most magical places on the planet. Just look at these:

If you don't fall in love with the place on the spot, I will eat my car! |

I keep in my car some club fliers, (those I translated into French) and I leave one each time I find a nice 75/ZT or pass it through the window if one happens to be next to me in a traffic jam...

Meanwhile, I wanted to start a National Trust thread in the hope that members would get the urge to visit some of these fantastic places. If it wasn't for the Trust, some of Britain's real jewels would have fallen apart and disappeared forever. (A bit like France's Versailles falling down to due to lack of money - what a disaster that would be). This is from the NT's website: "We care for 28 castles, 215 houses and gardens, 150 museums, 127 factories and mines, 57 villages, 47 dovecotes, 25 medieval barns, 78 mills, 19 pubs, 12 lighthouses, 31 nature reserves, 704 miles of coastline and 600,000 acres of countryside - for ever, for everyone." http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main...highlights.htm |

Howsabout whenever a member visits a National Trust site they take a photo of their car in front of it (or thereabouts) and add it to this thread along with details about the place? We have the smallest NT building they own just up the lane from us...a tiny wattle and daub farmer's cottage....I will start there!
