Default How long do I have?

I have fixed everything important that has been causing me problems. Left on my list of things I still need to do, but not causing issue yet are the following.

N/S rear brake flexi hose
Clutch master cylinder

How long do you think I have of trouble free motoring before another problem crops up? I guess the slave will fail about 2 months after the master.

There is a train of thought that not replacing the master at the same time as the slave, leaves old brake fluid in the system, that then contributes to an accelerated failure of the slave!

Budget on the master cylinder and budget for the slave..

Rear flexi could a MOT issue.

Join the rest of us, some trouble free and happy motoring could be on the horizon.

Default How long do I have?

Before my ownership the rear flexi was not clipped into the trailing arm and has rubbed a bit. Enough to fail the MOT but not enough for me to be concerned. I have the new part but not the inclination to do it.

I will probably get my MOT tester to replace it pre MOT in December.

I am saving for a slave cylinder and clutch kit, the bleed pipe from the gearbox has a Rover tag on, safe to say I think it might be on its last legs. I have a Tazu master on its way.

It will be nice to just use the car instead of stripping things off it.

No , it's an old wives' tale
Had my slave done about 2 years ago without touching the master , and all is still well

If you have lots of time on your hands and nowhere important to go, you have forever.

As soon as you are short of time and need to get somewhere the clutch master will burst and the brakes fail.

Its simple logic my boy.
