Arrow Free places (& free stuff) for Meguiar's Car Care Workshop - Saturday 17th March 2012

Hi Everyone

Meguiar's, one of the leading makers of car care products, is running a private workshop on car care and cleaning on the morning of Saturday 17th March 2012 at it's UK headquarters in Daventry, and I have free places available if anyone would like to come along (I must stress, this is not an official club activity):

Meguiar's UK, 3 Lamport Court, Heartlands, Daventry, NN11 8UF

The open day consist of:
  • A presentation of "Best Practice" in the Training Room. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and hopefully dispel a few myths.
  • An hour or so working on a visitor's car in our Detailing Bay to demonstrate products and techniques and give visitors an opportunity to try for themselves.
  • Every visitor receives a pack of sachet samples to take away.
  • Meguiar's aim to attract enthusiasts with a passion for making their car look the best it possibly can. When such people have experienced Meguiar's products for themselves, they invariably become advocates for the brand.

The facilities can accommodate 12-20 people, and Meguiar's will provide refreshments during the morning. They aim to start the seminar at 10am but ask if you can aim to arrive for 09.30am where they will provide refreshments.

The catch - you'll have to put up with a small number of Citroen C4 owners in attendance (including me). This was an event organised by some members over at the Citroen C4 owners club, but they have failed to get anyone to go so the organiser has given me the green light to open it up to everyone here (there's only 5 going including me, it's a common challenge over at C4owners, they are not as event-sociable as we are here).

So, if you would like to come along, please post here or DM me and I'll add you to the list. As places are limited, please only put your name down if you are serious about attending.

I do hope we get a good 75 & ZT showing. It would be nice to give the Citroen crowd, as well as Meguiar's, a masterclass in what a proper car should look like (oh yes, I do miss my 75 so much).

Thanks
Chris

What a great opportunity. Wish i could attend, wonders if instruction would also include machine polising instruction?

It probably will, as Meguiar's also does a machine polisher in addition to all its cleaning fluids, brushes and accessories.

But thanks for the thought and offer.

For those still unsure about whether to come along, and about what goes on, here's a thread over at Pistonheads with pics from their visit there in 2009 - same setup as we will get on the 17th:

http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/top...Meguiars&mid=0 (scroll down to the pics)

Still places available so do let me know if you want to go.

Thanks
Chris

Rats!!!! Typical!

I've just bought myself a DA machine (although to use with Menzerna products not Meguirs) and could have enjoyed a trip there to see the pros at work and get tips on DA use but I will be in Tokyo that weekend...

Oh well - Easter weekend is set aside for me to try out my DA and rid myself of those pesky swirl marks - if it works out I'll post pics - if it doesn't -

David
