The weather was unseasonably warm on the weekend so we took the tourer for a drive up the Fraser Valley. It was a mix of highway and side roads, just over a hundred miles in all. The car ran perfectly, the only excitement being when we ran short on petrol. The guage was down to about 1/8 tank as I had been hoping to get cheaper fuel up the valley where taxes are lower. Of course when I chickened out we had trouble finding a petrol station and then the price was higher than at the station near my house!

Washed the car with the help of a cheap Amazon filter for the end of the hose to run the pressure washer from a bucket, while the hosepipe ban persists.

Default I am an idiot

Please feel free to sit back with a smug smile...
I replaced the petrol filter in the petrol tank of my V6. I took suitable note of the fact that the original (BMW) tank seal is clearly marked 'bottom' or some such.
After having fitted the new filter and various seals I filled the tank to the brim. I HADN'T FITTED THE RUBBER SEAL BETWEEN THE TANK AND FILTER CORRECTLY AND SO PETROL POURED OUT OF THE JOIN.
On the plus side, I managed to get the car home without going up in a fireball, and, I managed to reseat the seal and only soak the top third of my body in petrol in the process. Ironically, the car ran really well when the seal was leaking air/petrol which would suggest I am currently running a little rich?
I am posting this because my own stupidity may well have killed me and would like the rest of you to avoid such self-inflicted hazards

Yesterday actually, I took the V8 for her annual and she passed with a clean sheet, and to celebrate I took her out and let her burn a couple of gallons of shell's finest.

Fixed an on-going light fault, due to having Led side lights, one would flash constantly, and a numberplate light error sign, So I fitted new non led bulbs, and the sidelight issue is fixed, the numberplate lights, when i took the covers off the terminals were corroded, so i cleaned them up, the lenes were yellowed, so they got cleaned, and i fitted new bulbs, a gain someone had fitted LED's, and i changed back to the normal, because i have loads of both types in my tool box, brand new never used, from my old car,

You need canbus leds for the number plate lights 😎 or bypass the pcb as I have done 👍

Ronnie - does your car also have a thermostat stuffed into some orifice not intended by the designers?

The thermostat is stuffed where the manufacturer intended 😁
