Default What do you know about this head unit?

This has been in the Yahoo photos section for a while
Does anyone know what it is who makes it and what other GPS based double din system are now available?

A must have for me is TMC

I may be exploring a Hi-Line retrofit exercise soon but first I want to evaluate alternatives and a single box solution is a very attractive option

Ooh I remember that when he installed it. Full details are on those board somewhere. iirc it was a technics or another hi value Japanese maker. He had to do some serious 'bodywork' around the unit to get it to fit.

I'll have a hunt later on

Keith,

If you have finally accepted your fate and purchased a 260, then there is a great big long thread on just this topic on two-sixties.com Geraint is leading this initiative it seems, and has already sourced a very nice looking double DIN faceplate that should allow most units to be fitted with minimal effort. Even being able to do your own fitting though, you're unlikely to be looking at much less than about £1,500 to get all you want!

BTW, when I looked recently (but decided I couldn't justify the cost for the amount of actual use I make of the satnav), the general concensus seemed to be that most if not all aftermarket systems would come with TrafficMaster (iirc) not TMC.
