Default Cigarette lighter power

Hi
Can anyone tell me how much power the lighter socket pushes out?
It runs my little air compressor 60w/5amp.
I wanted to run the compressor in the garage to pump my motorbike tyres. So bought a 240/12v converter from Halfords rated max 5 amp but the compressor runs very very slowly.
Just wondering how many amps over 5 I need to get it to work?
Cheers
Rog

Youve got a 75/mg with a CIGARETTE lighter ????

They all came with CIGAR lighters originally .

Surely Rovers should have a Pipe Lighter lol

Regarding use of the aux power socket, is it safe running one of those double socket extensions (one for SatNav and one for phone/iPad charging)?

I have even run a polisher from mine not as powerful as mains but does a pretty good job when I'm tired of hand polishing!

And new cars from the last 3-4 years are all a tiny bit smaller so you cant fit a Cigar lighter into them
