slight rattle on my closed driver window which goes away if I crack it. Console squeak at it rubs on the leather (!!) Not at all annoying to me as I can turn my music up or floor the car t make the V6 sing!

I've just bought a can of Fast Tak to help me stick some things together. It's a spray adhesive that allows for items to be repositioned. It's easy to clean off and seems like it'll be perfect for fixing rattles.
It's £4.07 in B&Q or is available here. http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebas...--150ml-862127 Rik.

No real issues with rattles other than a minor one from the armrest. Road noise is an issue though. Is there a way to retro-fit the soundproofing from a 75 to a ZT and if so what specific areas? I'd happily soundproof mine.
I've also had a Mk3 Mondy and whilst it was pretty much rattle free I did not care for a lot of the trim as it looked cheap. The doors especially. The stereo was great tho, always are with Fords. The stock Siemens cd head unit I have whilst stylistically fits in with the interior is pants beyond belief. |

My ZTT does not have any rattles. I have though refitted the door cards using a new fir tree clips where needed. I also added the bulk head insulation.
A colleague of mine bought a new Mondeo and he exchanged it for another one as the build was so poor. He even showed me how the roof wobbled as he slammed the door One thing that made my ZTT noisy was a cheapo back box. Fitting an OEM type cured that. Removing the 225 40 section tyres and fitting four new ones of the correct size also made a difference. Often its the lack of maintainance and penny pinching previous owners that creates problems. The original Symphony head unit made by Alpine was excellent. The later types were not as good though. I now have a DD and it is pretty good to. Quote:
How would a spray on glue for paper and cardboard help in fixing rattles? I would say overall the build quality is excellent and miles better than any Ford of a similar age. Ed Last edited by capese21; 21st September 2014 at 19:25.. |

Interior creaks and rattles.
My dashboard had its fair share of creaks and rattles then I had the lower engine mounting replaced (for other reasons of course).
Very quiet in the dashboard area now. |

My ZT has a vibration at 1800rpm range which I knew would be the lower engine mount and after a specialist serviced the car last week, he showed me the crack in the large polybush. New mount arrived yesterday from DMGRS and will be fitted very soon.
Beyond that one issue the interior does not rattle. Having 18 inch wheels with low profile tyres does make some roads very loud but not as loud as my ZR that had 17 inch low profile. Out of all the cars I have owned over the years, the ZR was the worst for build quality. Would never ever touch another one. |
