I would also recommend an osteopath. I developed terrible back pain when I was pregnant with my eldest. This continued on and off for the next 5 years, painkillers and physiotherapy done NOTHING. Eventually someone recommended an osteopath, they diagnosed a twisted coccyx, 3 sessions later it was manipulated back into place and haven't had any bother since.
I also have a damaged pelvis (not fixable) that occasionally gives me bother, as soon as I feel it I see the osteopath. They're like miracle workers. I hope you improve soon! Don't rush it, active rest is the most important thing, too much too soon you risk permanent damage.

I know where you're coming from Duncan, I broke my back and ankle about 9 years ago, and was bored stiff. Wife was at work, kids at school, nowt on tv, I ended up going out for a "hop" on my crutches.

Also consider going to see a Chiropractor. I slipped a disc and trapped a nerve many years ago just by sneezing whilst driving! Worse pain I have ever experienced. Two sessions with a Chiropractor and I was good as new!
Ali.

Backs are a nightmare - I've got two degenerating discs and the last bout of sciatica left me with nerve damage that means my right foot is less than 100% operational. No more squash etc. :¬(
On the other hand - been working from home today - youtube on the telly :¬) Just find a favourite musician and let it roll Or favourite vehicle, film director etc You could tell a lot about me from my youtube history!

Sorry to hear the news Dunc.
As others have said, active rest and plenty of time are the best thing for it. Try getting a digital radio to kill the long hours, some excellent BBC stations that are digital only. Or youtube kitten videos if that's your thing.... |
