In tank fuel pump replacement
Looks like I need to replace the in tank fuel pump and searching the forum and the net the best option seems to be to buy a replacement insert from Jules and fit it to the existing housing...
The how to at https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...ead.php?t=4512 has two users how to's for the diesel and reading through them one removes the complete assembly including the pipes, rail and spring to change the insert while the other removes the assembly only by loosening the fuel pipe from the insert while in the car. Does anybody have any experience to share to point me in the right direction? All advice and tips appreciated. |

I just done one for rav. Tried to change in place but it sprang out. I'd recommend doing it out the car as it was easy but watch carefully how it sits as it comes out as it confused me how it went and had to be bailed out over the phone by Brian.

I have replaced the whole pump and put photographs on the forum showing how it sits in the tank. Cannot help you with replacing the insert in the pump but there used to be a thread on the forum detailing the process.

Thanks for the input gents, the consensus seems to be that it's more fiddly than difficult. Looks like I'll order the part from Jules and then have a crack at it when time and weather permit. Currently away during the week and the time home at the weekend is over before you know it.

Just spotted your walking distance from me. Give me a shout if you want a hand or even second set of eyes when doing it.
Not that I'd walk but close enough.
