Default Handbrake issues

Hi all, I know this is yet another handbrake tread but I having looked around I haven't seen anything that is like my issue. I have recently fitted new disc, pads and handbrake shoe to my 04 tourer. All went relatively well however, the handbrake actuator appears to be coming into contact with the back of the wheel hub resulting in a light 'knocking' sound as he actuator hits the star shaped casting on the back of the hub.

The knocking only goes away when i put the handbrake on one click which isn't good. Any thoughts welcome.

P.S. and no i haven't changed the compensator.

Default Wheel bolts

Had a knock at rear wheel after a disc change- found it was my locking wheel bolts which were only slightly longer than the regular bolts BUT long enough to catch something every rotation of the wheel. I replaced all four locking bolts with regular wheel bolts - problem solved and no more games of find the doofer.
I assume the discs ( genuine Mintex ) were a few mm thinner than the ones I replaced them with?

sounds like you need to take a look just in case it comes apart and jams up.

Absolutely spot on there bigblue75, locking wheel bolt just clipping the handbrake actuator. All sorted now.
