Certain regions do have more than their fair share of 75s and ZTs. Tends to be either where there was a large dealer or an elderly population!

I tend to luck out when I'm out in the ZT and rarely see another. Typically when I'm in the Mundaneo, I see a few Longbridge MGs.
Saying that, saw two this morning. Parked up ZT estate in the same shade but with a severely knackered front and rear bumper - paint falling off all over the place - and a mk1 teal blue 75, union alloys.

Apart from the last 4 years with the Mundaneo, there's always been a bit of Longbridge in the 'fleet', since first passing my test in 1990. Blame the folks for that as there was usually something BMC/BL/AR on the drive. I've a bit to go to retirement yet, so definitely buck the stereotypical driver!
Definitely seen an upswing in the Chinese MGs locally, but then the dealers are springing up left, right and centre. Baylis on Southern Ave, the one in Stroud heading out to Chalford are two dealers I've seen recently. the SUV ones just look a bit Mazda-esque to me. Son in law's got a CX5 which is a ringer for the ZS.

Had the KV6 Connie m.o.t’d today. Twelve months ticket and no advisories. Fast idle check:- co. @ 3000 max limit 0.200 actual value 0.000.
HC max limit 200 actual value 0. Lambda:- min limit 0.970@ 2500rpm. Max Limit 1.030 @ 3000rpm. Actual value:- 1.001. Natural Idle Test:- Rpm 1500-Co% vol Max Limit 0.300 Actual value- 0.011. Not bad for an 18 year old car. The only thing done for the mot was four new tyres, Avon ZV7 215/55/16, and adjust the handbrake. The tyres were down to around 2-2.5 mm. so time for a change.

After the surprise of a rapid straight-forward removal of the passenger side control arm (using the hammer head method for the ball-joint removal), trying to get the replacement arm and bush back in has taken very much longer. The main problem was lining up the bush housing, I was suprised how simple the arm was to get back onto the subframe but boy did that housing give me some grief!
As I read on many threads, getting the housing flat to the frame was the key. Both ball joints were in, as was the front bolt of the housing but the rear one just wouldnt go in. In the end, I reluctantly removed the front bolt to try to get the rear one in first. A bit of wiggling of the housing and the bolt started to bite, after 2 hours of struggling. As soon as it started to tighten up, the front one then went in without further issue. So glad to have the car back on its wheels and now ready for its long overdue MOT!!

My new ZT-T has started it's long journey from Germany to the West Coast of Canada. It's off to Zeebrugge to be loaded into a container then 45 days at sea via the Panama Canal to Vancouver.
I hate having to be patient! [IMG][/IMG]
