NHS "digital passports" Scam??
Just recieved two E mails headed with NHS logo and inviting me to apply for a Covid digital passport. Checked the NHS site and can find no mention of this bite your hand off offer. Scam is my opinion. Chris.S.

I actually opened it and it took me to a foreign site offering to mend your sore shoulder
I then ran a full virus check ; nothing found !

Its a scam that's been runing a few days and many of us have received or wil receive an email purporting to be from the NHS (looks very convincng) offering 'digital Covid-19 passports' that will allow anyone to travel anywhere wordwide. That in itslf was an alarm bell, so a quick Google confirmed the scam. The email links you to a site that requests payment of a fee to cover the administative costs. NHS confirms they have no such system operating.

Yup. I got one to and forwarded it to "phishing scams" at gov.uk.
[email protected] if in any doubt!

There seems a new one or two every day. I have now had several phone calls from the same number (with 13 digits) that disconnects when answered. On ringing it back I get 'number not recognised'. It seems unlikely that a child playing with a phone would key the same number repeatedly. Most odd. My email is encrypted end-to-end so I thought I was pretty safe - it seems nobody other than Robinson Crusoe is.

Never callback an unknown or odd number either as it could be a confirmation to the scammer that the number is viable (although I dont think this practice is used any longer), but could potentially be a masked number with hidden costs (although it should not connect if this is the case - but just in case). Also if you do engage with caller, avoid closed answers, like yes or no. These used to be recorded for scamming telephone banking. My favourite call is from 'windows', if I have time, I do have fun with them. If they call stating you have been in an accident t, ask how much compensation you will receive for amnesia they get excited by that. You get bonus points if you can make them swear before they hang up ......... Atthe end of the day, they are likely poor folk struggling to make money, but the same time, you are reducing their time to scam someone more vulnerable. Sent from my SM-A600FN using Tapatalk

Thanks! Good diversionary tactics, now I feel sorry for them!
After 25 years of selling insurance/pensions/investments to (initially) sceptical prospects I am versed in closing/open questions, although of course not to scammers! It is a minefield and there are some innocents that get taken through their good nature.

If you have the NHS app, you can get your vaccination status, and a QR code to travel or enter venues.
