Don't know about the abs as my blackbird is 1996 , so good old fashioned carbs and no fancy electrics.
I can normally tell how hard I've braked by the shape of the seat.

Stan

I though it was from the indentations in the tank

No ABS as Stan says, it’s all down to the rider I’m afraid!

I notice Henry Cole was riding a new AJS across a field in his programe The Motor bike show. You can find it here. https://www.itv.com/hub/the-motorbike-show/1a9745a0038

Its on series 9 episode 2. He mentioned his concerns of th bikes linked brakes whilst on th grass..... maaaaan.

And insodentaly but not nessaraly related on msn this morning it was mentioned that camping was very popular this year but they were concerned about th litter they leave. So i was thinking. Could a discarded broke brake leaver and other bits and bobs be classed as a "accident" or litter. Apparently there is a hefty max fine...

Never fancied a bike but thought this quite funny, pictured while working up in Glasgow a few years ago.

I do miss bikes, when I was younger and carefree I used to just disappear for the day, just "went somewhere"! I did try a bike again a few years ago but kinda regretted my choice, a CB900F2, 1980s vintage. Coveted one when they were new but couldn't afford one at the time . . . . what a pig of a bike, top heavy lump! One bike I regret getting rid of was a CB550K3 that I picked up cheap in strange circumstances, painter and decorator neighbour (Arthur Daley type!) took it in part payment for a job. It still had the original 4 into 4 exhaust, turned out to be 4 into about 3½ once I got it started! It had a few of problems, the exhaust (wanted to retain the 4 into 4 so had to wait for a batch of exhausts to be made in Japan!) oil leak, electrical problems, spent a bit of time on it, sorted the electrics, full engine rebuild, new camchain etc. Ran as sweet as a nut, boss of the local bike shop actually said he'd forgotten they could be that quiet! Wish I'd kept it

I've just traded my 1993 yamaha fj1200 in for a new Enfield interceptor because the yamaha is now too heavy for me with my dodgy knees. Only trouble is there's a big difference between 120 bhp and 47 hp. The joys of advancing years.

At one time I had two, slightly contrasting, bikes: a '72 Norton 750 Commando and a Honda 1500 Goldwing I couldn't start the Commando in the (double) garage, it would trigger the alarm on the Wing and my father's car.

The Commando was a US import, had to return it to UK spec, get shot of naff megaphone silencers, higher bars etc. I went to check the timing, had to set the idle at 3,000 rpm to check it . . . . at 3,000 rpm it was wandering across the garage floor due to the vibration! Had to build up about an inch of carpet under the centre stand to keep it in one place.

Mechanical fact; if you bike was wandering backwards that is quite normal, however if it was 'waddles' off sideways it is an indication of worn main bearings!
