Default Help me out if possible.

I will be attending the meeting my first one. Today I have been trying to take out my high line stereo as I bought a new sat nav as advised by a friend who has installed one on his mg zt. Upon gaining access to the cables it's not a simple plug and play. Annoying to say the least. Speaking to this friend who is a parts supplier for rover 75 and mgzt he has advised me that it needs hard wiring I.e cables splicing and connected. I am not confident enough to do this myself. Is anyone at the meeting able to help me with it at all and I will pay you as I really want it fitted now. In the near future I wanted a rear view camera installed as has the connections also with the kit. My car is a mg ztt estate so that was the reason I wanted it fitted so had upto date sat nav. Mp3 player and future rear camera fitted. The adviser who lives in Manchester and sources parts for MGBD rover P600's specialist in Wolverhampton advised me of the kit and said it was plug and play but I have found out the hard way. He has said he will be up here in a few weeks and can do it but I was just wondering if someone at the meet could help me and at least I have a local guy to help me out going forward as I want to start towing the caravan next year in it. Kind regards Chris

I've never done this but from what I have read on the subject further down the loom at the back of the ash tray is anther connector that is BMW type this is where you plug an adaptor into that is readily available to connect to after market units.

Something along the lines of this:

I was hoping someone would be able to help me out at the meeting on Sunday. I wouldn't know how to get to the cable in question. I'm not car savy and was told it was plug and play. I have the factory fitted highline sat nav system with 6cd changer. I don't know how to get to behind the ashtray. The guy who advised me lives in Manchester so can't help for a few weeks as we're I have saw him the place is closed until next week as away on holiday.

The two people that come to mind are Jubba & Jamie, the later as not been to the last two meets but Jamie should be at this meet worth talking to him.

You could even drop him a PM and ask if he as Julian's number whom may well help you privately, he lives Wolvo too.

Default Add a name

Hello Nano team could you put a work colleague down on the list please. His name is Alan and drives a MG ZT. This will be his first meeting. I’m having trouble with logging in again on the nano site. Perhaps some one on Sunday could have a look at it for me. Thanks. All the best Chris

Well Nano Meets 2020 come to an end, it was better than 2019 when we were badly affected by covid all year, but we still only held 2 meets this year , both at Teddybears as the Four Ashes remains empty without a landlord and who knows what the future holds there

Thanks to those that attended today and we had some new owners which is always good to see, the meet was a bit low key but a decent turnout and there were still quite a few jobs done so thanks to the crew who always turn up and are prepared to help others without gain. Big thanks too to Dave & Marina who came all the way from Leeds despite the petrol crisis, hope they didn't have to walk the last few miles back home !!

Thanks to those that made donations today we had £32 in the pot at close of play

Lets hope that in 2022 we can get back to normal and hold our 6 weekend meets in the year, March, May, June, July, September and October, we will be keeping an eye on the Four Ashes over the next few months to see if it reopens but also looking for other venues in the area where we can hold the meets, preferably where camping is allowed and there is a pub on site or nearby

The Nano forum will now be quieter over the next few months but please check in now and again to see if any developments on a venue for next year.

A few pictures I took today can be seen here http://www.midlandsnanomeets.co.uk/f...hp?f=200&t=661
