If, if, he is suffering from delirium after treatment for cancer, then there might just be a brave soul in his government to, er, persuade him that he should retire to his Datcha for the foreseeable.

The state of clinical delirium is mind-blowingly scary and has a nasty habit of returning, even when in a normal condition or to a relatively lucid state. It is entirely beyond understanding and might just be one feature of his observable imbalance. More than a reason than an excuse. A very scary place. Any medics out there that can expand?

Baltic States next? or Czech or Slovakia, in Red Russian thinking they are part of their fiefdom as is Poland and Hungary. I see Turkey is getting a bit nervous about the situation. Chris.S.

Good morning Ray, how are you?

Putin, by his face shape, it is round and moon like, a common sign when someone is on steroids. He could be on steroids to reduce pressure in his brain if he has secondaries, one of the side effects of steroids is feelings of aggressiveness. If he does in fact have Parkinson’s, the medication for the treatment has awful side effects such as visual hallucinations, seeing little people under the table is not uncommon, also known as Lilliputian hallucinations. A give away for Parkinson’s is if Putin dribbles, has an intention tremor - difficult to see this in public as he presents himself smartly dressed, clean looking and in control. Delirium is a term I have not heard for many years.

The other thing with Putin is how vain he is with many photos of himself stripped off to the waist showing off his muscles and being one of the boys. I saw one photo of him stripped to the waist carrying an AK47 and riding a horse. It was rumoured he was pumping up his muscles with steroids. Another side effect seen in body builders on steroids is genital shrinkage.

Is Putin capable of pressing the nuclear button?

This will be sad for aviation if it is true.

I don't know if you realise it but Ukraine when the Soviet Union fell apart became the world's 3rd largest nuclear power

They became the holders of a huge nuclear arsenal and also had the facilities to not only produce the material for nuclear weapons but the facilities to manufacture the delivery systems.

They didn't want any part of it and signed an agreement with the other nuclear superpowers to decommission their arsensal and the other facilities.
In exchange the other signatories would defend the Ukraine against hostle forces.

There's been talk in Ukraine over the last few days that maybe they've made a big mistake and need to tear up the agreement to decommission, and to recommission them (They're still there). Their thinking is after all countries don't invade other countries with a nuclear deterrent.

Just seen US V22 Osprey drop into Wattisham. Now I don't see that very often. And they are noisy too. Had wocka-wocka last week too.

Were these not.returned.to.russia, and subsequently partially decommissioned (supposedly) as part of a us/russia deal to reduce arsenals.on both sides? (Around the time.of Clinton or close to the end of bush snr's term).

Not as far as I'm aware, Ukraine had more than adequate facilities to decommission them, many of them were made there.

There's a large nuclear storage/ processing facility on the outskirts of Kyiv

Not of course forgetting Chernobyl which has a massive amount of nuclear material (nothing to do with the destroyed reactor) there's two other decommissioned reactors and a very large storage facility, one of the reason's it was high on the list of first objectives of Putin's forces
