Default Mg Zt 190 petrol pipe quick fit fitting

Hi everybody
Took a trip out to lake district last week and car stopped smelling of petrol lifted the bonnet and the petrol feed pipe had blown off so just pushed it back together but it seems like its moving again im sure its worn out.
Ive seen some angled quick fit connectors on various sites just wondered what size i should be looking to get to make sure it never happens again.

many thanks

Hello Julien,

As you haven't mentioned any dismantling I take it that you're referring to the rear of the engine bay where the fuel hose rises from the tank to connect to the rigid straight pipe running forwards to the fuel rails. The connector I'm thinking of has two rectangular buttons which have to be simultaneously squeezed to release the connector from the flange on the end of the pipe. I doubt that this has worn out but I always find it very stiff to operate. Try a little lubrication which should make the connection easier and more secure. I suspect that it has been removed in the past and not put back properly hence the smell of petrol.

Hi Simon, thaks for quick reply yes that is the correct connection im after ive had a good look at it but it looks like someone has used a screwdriver on it and mauled it up a fair bit, i tried pressing it in and on and off a few times but i think its lost its grip after being mauled.

i was thinking something like this if i can get correct size https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164569046...CABEgIgqPD_BwE

cheers julian

Mine got very stiff to remove and refit. In the end, using a cotton bud, I worked some castor oil into the connector - as recommended for use on fitter injector o-rings. That worked a treat, and I can now easily remove it, and refit it with confidence.
